The Mourning Stripe

Last night my BLP contracting friends lost 2 family members. I will miss them, too. There is nothing just in what happened to them, and it will take time for us to come to grips with it. We all have their families in our thoughts and prayers.

The dress uniform for the U.S. Army has a black strip running down the sides of the pants, from the waist down to the bottom. It is referred to as the mourning stripe. I've not had to this point anyone to mourn from my military experience. Until now.
